Warfrog Games

No cover yet - be patient.

Waterloo

This would've been the third Treefrog Line release, except I decided to put out Steel Driver. This will be my first published two-player wargame.

As you might've guessed it's about that battle that's been done a thousand times before. Well, it's been done again now, but hopefully in a manner that will please you.

As it's a Treefrog Line game all of the pieces will be wooden, with infantry, artillery, and cavalry units presented as silhouettes, so it could look rather nice when laid out. The board is divided up into irregular areas designed to create some of the bottle-necks on the actual battlefield.

The core twist to the game is that when it's your turn you are note quite sure how many actions you will get. The other player knows, but will only tell you when you have used your allotted number. What this means is that you are never sure whether you can carry out your plans without the other player being able to intervene. For infantry this can be especially painful, as if they are caught in mobile formation by cavalry they stand to take heavy casualties.

The game will take about three to four hours to play. It will be ready by January 2009 and I will start taking pre orders in December.
